Smart Health – and Apple Health – device leader Withings launched its new Body Scan consumer smart scale in September. Now the company is back with its next innovation in the commercial smart scale market. With cellular connectivity and a modular design, Body Pro 2 allows healthcare providers to help patients “manage chronic disease,” the first of which is early detection of diabetes complications.

The scale allows you to measure weight, BMI and body composition, as well as measure electrochemical conductivity of the skin.
Notably, this is the first smart scale with a modular design. The first Body Pro 2 module is available by prescription only and will allow healthcare providers to “improve care for patients with diabetes.”
With this module, healthcare teams can monitor one of the biggest challenges of diabetes – diabetic foot health, which is often overlooked. Observing patients’ The electrochemical skin conductance (ESC) score can help detect early signs of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) and assess the risk of diabetic foot ulcers. 1
Withings also claims that the Body Pro 2 is the “first” smart scale with cellular connectivity. And it aims to make the patient experience seamless, with “no setup required”:
