Today we remember Steve Jobs, who died 12 years ago

Today marks the 12th anniversary of the death of Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs at the age of 56 from cancer.


Apple posted the following message on its website after Jobs' death:

Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing man. Those of us fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

The Apple website still has a “Remembering Steve” page where condolences are expressed customers around the world since his death in 2011.

“Not a day goes by that we don't think about him,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said during the first media event at Steve Jobs' hotel. Theater in September 2017.


The Steve Jobs Archive website contains a collection of quotes, videos and emails from Jobs and offers scholarships to young creators who can follow in Jobs' footsteps.
