In an interview with CBS Mornings co-host Nate Burleson, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed, that his company is cautious about hiring at a time of heightened economic uncertainty. The full interview will air on Tuesday, but the preview is available now.
“So, as a result of being in this period, we're taking a very deliberate approach to hiring,” Cook said when asked. about Apple's hiring plans. “This means we continue to hire employees, but not everywhere in the company.” Cook added that Apple remains a firm believer in long-term investment.
Last month, Apple suspended recruitment for many non-research and development positions to cut costs, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The report says the move affects some “enterprise functions” and “standard roles in hardware and software development.”
Cook also discussed Apple's return policy. From September, corporate employees are required to work in the office three days a week.

“We make a product and you have to keep it,” Cook said. “So it requires meeting people casually, sharing ideas, and taking enough care to promote your idea through someone else because you know that will make it a bigger idea,” he added.
