IKEA and Sonos collaborated back in 2019 with the original SYMFONISK table lamp, which doubles as an AirPlay-enabled smart speaker. After launching V2 last year with a new design to match, IKEA x Sonos has announced the latest addition to the lineup, the SYMFONISK Speaker floor lamp.
IKEA announced this in a press release this morning:
“We have learned a lot about how people want to light and sound furniture. We also know that many people want to have multiple lights at different levels and in different parts of the room to create the right mood. The problem of not having enough space for a table on which to put a lamp led us to create a floor lamp,” says Stepan Begich, Head of Product Design at IKEA Sweden.
As expected. in collaboration with Sonos, IKEA's goal was to continue the series with the same “high quality” product. the sound of previous models.
And like the second generation SYMFONISK table lamp speakers, the new floor lamp speakers work with a variety of lampshades (standard with bamboo).
Accessory to to the SYMFONISK line means that the new smart lamp/speaker connects to the DIRIGERA smart home center from IKEA, which is now compatible with Matter. Smart devices also include AirPlay 2 support.
“The Symfonisk floor lamp speaker is designed with simplicity in mind and delivers high quality sound in soft lighting. The floor lamp speaker comes with a bamboo lampshade and can be personalized with a variety of SYMFONISK lampshades, which can be purchased separately. Combined with other products in the SYMFONISK range or other Sonos products, the lamp can also act as a rear speaker to create a home theater experience with room-filling light and sound.”
