By Julie Clover

When new products are released, Apple fans in Australia and New Zealand are always the first to receive updated devices due to their time zone. In these two countries, today is Tuesday, November 7, which means that customers who ordered the new MacBook Pro M3 or iMac are starting to receive their goods.

Apple customers will soon be sharing photos and first impressions of the new Mac computers on Instagram, Twitter, Reddit and the MacRumors forums. If you got your hands on a new Mac, be sure to share your thoughts with us in the comments below!

Apple unveiled the new Macs at its Scary Fast event on October 30, which was the first all-night event Apple hosted. Apple introduced the M3 series chips, and also introduced Apple Standard, Pro and Max silicon chips simultaneously for the first time.

The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models can be purchased with the M3, M3 Pro or M3 Max chip, while the 24-inch ‌iMac‌ there is M3. Today's orders will include M3 and M3 Pro machines, as MacBook Pro models with the M3 Max had delivery dates of November 9 to November 13 when Apple first started accepting orders. We won't see customers with initial orders of the M3 Max MacBook Pro until later this week.

Apple has not made any design updates to the MacBook Pro or ‌iMac‌ when he updated the chips inside. MacBook Pro models also received a minor display upgrade with a 100-nit increase in SDR brightness, while the ‌iMac‌ also received support for Wi-Fi 6E, increased maximum memory and Bluetooth 5.3.

Built on 3nm technology, the M3 chips are equipped with a next-generation GPU with support for hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh. shading, as well as dynamic caching to improve GPU utilization. According to Apple, the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max chips are up to 50 percent faster than the M2, ‌M2‌ Pro and ‌M2‌ Max chips.

There are no Apple retail stores in New Zealand, so customers in Australia will be the first to purchase one of the new Macs from an Apple Store. We do not expect any supply shortages, and updated vehicles should be readily available to those interested. Please note that Apple Stores offer standard configurations, so customers looking to upgrade memory, SSD, or chip will need to order a dedicated machine online.

New Mac computers begin sales and shipments in New Zealand and Australia in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and finally the Americas. Be sure to stay tuned to MacRumors because tomorrow we'll be doing a hands-on walk-through, unboxing, and a closer look at the performance of the new machines.
