Pitaka MagEZ Slider 2 review: innovative but slow

Pitaka MagEZ Slider 2

2.5/5 Buy on Amazon

Pitaka MagEZ Slider 2 has a convenient and well-designed design, but unfortunately it lacks charging speed.

Many people have switched to MagSafe when looking for an iPhone charger. Some have stands, some can charge more than one device, and companies are looking at ways to make them more adaptable.

With MagEZ Slider 2, Pitaka has created a charging station for your iPhone and AirPods, making a stand with a MagSafe charger on the front and a Qi charger on the back. The MagSafe charger and AirPod holder are removable for added portability.

MagEZ has an adhesive layer at the bottom so it can be applied to a flat surface. It also rotates 360 degrees and has a switch to lock it in place.

The MagEZ Charging Dock has a USB-C port at the base that powers the entire system, allowing the dock to swivel without getting tangled in wires.

We like these details because having a rotating charger stand can be useful for turning your phone around, placing charging AirPods on the other side, etc.

In addition to the MagSafe charger and Qi charger, there's another USB-C port on the side if you want to use it to charge a third device. The MagEZ 3-in-1 option comes with an Apple Watch charger for this port. For this review, we tested the 2-in-1 version.

Pitaka MagEZ Slider 2 – Charging and gain ; Usage

MagSafe battery capacity is 4000 mAh, charging power is 7.5 W from the charging station and 5 W from the charging station. Regardless of the difference in power, it takes MagEZ just over two hours to overclock the iPhone 14 Pro from 0% to 80%.

On the other hand, our 2nd generation AirPods charge fairly quickly on a Qi charger, with the Qi and Apple Watch chargers being 5W. However, these are not devices that necessarily require fast charging speeds.

The MagSafe charger has a sleek look that fits well in your hand and fits comfortably in pockets of all sizes. However, even with its slow charging speed, it can overheat your iPhone if it's left in your pocket for too long, and will become noticeably warm in jeans or heavy pants.

Pitaka MagEZ Slider 2 – Fun Design, Slow Charging

We like the design and potential uses of the MagEZ, but we can't help but be disappointed in its iPhone charging capabilities.

A 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 charger like this one works great as a fixture on your bedside table or desk, but those are the only places you should keep it for as long as needed for charging. your devices. It will charge your iPhone to 100% overnight or during a workday, but it's not a fast charger. However, if you're willing to spend more than $100 on a convenient but slow charger, the MagEZ embodies the “slow and steady” approach to wireless charging.
