New 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros feature displays that are 20% brighter

The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models Apple announced today feature 20% brighter displays for standard content, according to Apple.


Apple laptop specifications show that all of the latest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models deliver peak brightness of up to 600 nits for SDR content. which is 20% more than the maximum value of 500 nits on previous models. For HDR content, all models can reach a maximum brightness of up to 1600 nits, which remains unchanged.

“Liquid Retina XDR display is the world's best laptop display with exceptional 1000 nits continuous brightness and 1600 nits peak brightness brightness for HDR content, an impressive contrast ratio, vibrant colors and an outstanding viewing angle,” Apple said. “SDR content is now displayed at up to 600 nits of brightness, which is 20 percent brighter than before.”
