Nanoleaf today announced the upcoming release of Nanoleaf Smart Holiday string lights that can integrate with Matter-compatible smart home platforms such as HomeKit.
The two 10-meter light strands include 250 addressable LEDs that can be configured to produce 16 million colors and multiple shades of white ranging from 2700 to 6500K. With IP44 water resistance, the 250-lumen lights can be used indoors or outdoors.
Lights can be controlled using the Nanoleaf app, Home app, or Siri voice commands. The Nanoleaf app offers customizable color palettes and lighting animations, as well as the ability to sync with playing music. There are nine preset scenes, such as Holiday Magic and Crackling Fireplace.
Because Nanoleaf lights support Matter technology, a Matter-compatible smart home hub such as HomePod mini or the latest Apple is required TV 4K. to use them with HomeKit. The lights can be controlled via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Matter via Wi-Fi, and there are physical controls available for when your smart device isn't nearby when you want to change the color or turn off the lights.
Nanoleaf Smart Holiday Garlands can be pre-ordered on the Nanoleaf website for $120. Orders will begin shipping in mid-October.
