Contrary to rumors, Apple has not yet transitioned its line of Mac input accessories to USB-C, but it will still happen sooner rather than later.
Following Apple's event on Monday, Apple did not introduce its long-awaited line of USB-C accessories along with its updated 24-inch iMac. Instead, the company decided to continue offering the Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse devices with Lightning.
This change is notable as the company has already been proactive in converting some Lightning devices to USB-C, with all of the latest-gen iPads, second-gen AirPods Pro, Siri remote, and iPhone 15 lineup now replacing Lightning ports with USB-C.
The European Union is not yet obliging Apple to make products with USB-C, and it can sell Lightning products that originally shipped before the 2024 deadline for as long as it wants. However, this regulation still remains unresolved.
