JumpCloud Releases Q2 2023 Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) IT Trends Report, “Flexibility and Ingenuity” : What is Ensuring IT Governance for Small and Medium Enterprises in 2023” this highlights some interesting trends for Apple and its continued growth in the enterprise.
&# 8220; Modern IT management is a balance of being responsive to current needs while being flexible enough to adapt to the unknown. Flexibility, ingenuity and innovation have never been more important for those working in IT,” he says. said Rajat Bhargava, CEO of JumpCloud. “Administrators want convenience and centralized management, as evidenced by 77% of respondents who agree or strongly agree that they would prefer one solution/tool to get their work done. Administrators are hungry for an open IT approach that delivers on this promise, an approach that unifies and centralizes identity and allows organizations to scale while addressing efficiency, complexity, and cost issues.”
JumpCloud commissioned a biannual survey of IT administrators at small and midsize organizations to gain unique insights into the day-to-day experiences of the IT teams that run and manage day-to-day operations. This edition of the survey surveyed IT administrators in the US, UK and France. It highlights that while IT teams are successful in managing their environment, they need solutions built on top of an open directory platform. While 77% of IT admins want one tool to do their job, organizations continue to use many more tools, leading to tool proliferation.

Layoffs were higher in the US, where 40% of US administrators reported layoffs. In terms of upcoming layoffs, 77% of all IT admins expect more layoffs, and among admins in the US alone, 78% expect layoffs.
Opinion 9to5Mac
The proliferation of tools in the enterprise is one of the biggest challenges, and I believe this leads to security issues. When companies rely on tools to meet individual needs, they end up in data silos. I believe this is why we are seeing trends such as OCSF, security data lakes, and industry consolidation. IT teams ultimately need solutions, not management tools. The key takeaway from this report is that 49% of IT administrators agree that they are more concerned about their organization's security posture now than they were six months ago. Security is now a board-level issue, not just an IT issue.
