Demand for iPhone 15 Pro Max is higher than for iPhone 14 Pro Max, analyst Ming -Chi Kuo claims he still faces long production wait times.
Less than a week after the launch of Apple's latest generation iPhone, the iPhone 15 Pro Max appears to be the most popular option in the 2023 lineup. While this is good news for Apple, there are still some issues that the company needs to carefully address.
On Sunday on Medium, TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo noted that demand for the iPhone 15 Pro Max is “strong as previously expected and ahead of last year's iPhone 14 Pro Max.” The Pro model is “weaker than last year,” although that could be due to more premium users opting for the Pro Max instead.
Demand for standard iPhone 15 models is “about the same as last year,” Kuo adds.
Despite high demand, Kuo notes that the wait time for the iPhone 15 Pro Max is longer than others, but “it's more than just because of high demand.” The model's later mass production schedule, as well as a statement that “current production issues are more pronounced than other models,” are cited as potential reasons for the delays.
Kuo maintains his forecast: 80 million iPhone 15 will be sold in 2023.
