iPhone 15 Pro, Apple Watch S9 chip update, list of iOS 17 features in the AppleInsider podcast

iPhone 15 Pro

Your AppleInsider Podcast hosts break down details from the Wonderlust event, including more on the iPhone 15, USB-C , Thread, Ultra Wideband, and why the Apple Watch Series 9 is a bigger upgrade than it seems.

During the Wonderlust event on Tuesday, Apple unveiled the iPhone 15 lineup, Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2 and its connection to Mother Nature. Your organizers go beyond the superficial announcements to find new exciting things to discuss when pre-orders begin.

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro receive several significant updates that will make your everyday experience even better. USB-C arrived as expected, but more importantly, the iPhone can now communicate directly with devices using the Thread protocol, and second-generation Ultra Wideband opens up new possibilities for tracking devices and people.

Updates to Apple's camera app and photo editing features give users more control over every photo. Even iPhone 14 series users can take advantage of the new focus control feature when editing images with depth data.

The Apple Watch Series 9 hasn't changed much in appearance, but it's pink, and for many buyers that would be enough. But the new SiP and spread gestures are great benefits that could entice even 2022 Apple Watch owners to upgrade.

While hardware releases are always exciting, Apple is also committed to bringing the latest software updates to users. Stephen and Wes discuss several little-discussed features coming to iOS 17, including some that won't arrive on launch day.
