The third season of the flagship drama The Morning Show starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon premiered today on Apple TV+.
Apple TV+ launched in November 2019 with The Morning Show as its first foray into prestige drama. The series demonstrated Apple's intention to highlight greater production values and big names, with the story inspired by sexual assault allegations against former Today Show host Matt Lauer.
Critical reaction to The Morning Show was somewhat mixed, although the show did ultimately win various awards, including a Supporting Actor Emmy for Billy Crudup as network executive Corey Ellison.
The second season debuted in 2021, with the story revolving around the events of the COVID-19 pandemic and witnessing the eventual downfall of Steve Carell's character.
The show returns this week for a third season, with Jon Hamm joining the cast. As a tech company shows interest in acquiring its production network, The Morning Show is rocked by a cyber hack that exposes sensitive data about the presenters.
