Hermès has introduced a new collection of cases and bands for the Apple Watch Series 9, including some new leather band options not available on Apple's website.
Apple has removed all leather iPhone cases and Apple Watch bands, including Hermès bands, from its website as part of a major new sustainability initiative. However, as part of the ongoing partnership between Apple and Hermès, the luxury watch boutique may continue to sell the Apple Watch Series 9 models with calfskin straps.
The new Hermès Single Tour and Double Tour straps in knitted and woven nylon include several color options in calfskin leather. Prices for Hermès Apple Watch Series 9 Bands range in price from $349 to $589, and watch/band combinations range from $1,249 to $1,539.
All bands are available for pre-order today. According to the Hermès website, it will begin shipping orders after September 22.
As for Apple, on Tuesday the company announced a new textile called FineWoven, which is made from 68 percent post-consumer content and is generally more environmentally friendly compared to the company's previous line of leather accessories. Apple has also confirmed that it will no longer use leather for new Apple accessories.
