Google adds a new live view feature to the Maps app real-time with augmented reality, allowing smartphone users to visually search for restaurants, cafes and other businesses located nearby.
Using Live View, you can open Maps and tap the camera icon in the search bar to see what surrounds you, from shops and banks. to ATMs and bars. Google Maps will provide AR-based directions and arrows, giving you an idea of how far a place is from you and how you can get there. In addition, you can also see key information about each place superimposed right on the screen, such as whether it's open, what the price range is, and what its rating is.
Google says users can click on the place. categories to see which restaurants, bars, dessert shops, parks, and public transportation are within walking distance.
Google Preview with Live View was introduced back in September, but is now ready to go . Starting next week, it will launch in London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, San Francisco and Tokyo.
Google is also rolling out new features that will make it easier for EV owners to find the best charging station for their cars with a “fast charge” filter, and Google is expanding information on wheelchair accessible places around the world where there are no stairs.
