In September, iOS 16.1 was released with support for Live Activity in third-party apps. This feature allows iPhone users to stay up to date with real-time events, such as sports games or food delivery orders, right on the lock screen or in Dynamic Island.
Live activities are essentially notifications in mode real-time information displayed on the iPhone lock screen provide concise information. Online activities also show up on Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. You can long press on Live Activity on Dynamic Island to view more information.
Below, we've highlighted five particularly useful Live Activity-enabled iPhone apps for sports performance, parking, flying, and more.< br/>
FotMob
Since the World Cup is taking place in Qatar, the FotMob app can be used to track match results in real time throughout the month-long tournament. To do this, open the FotMob application, click on the current match and click on the star in the upper right corner. As a result, a scoreboard with real-time results will appear on the lock screen and Dynamic Island.
Sports Alerts
In addition to the World Cup, the Sports Alerts app can be used to track the real-time results of many other sports leagues, including the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and NCAA football and basketball. To do this, open the Sports Alert app, click on the current game, click on the three dots in the upper right corner and select “Start Live Stream”. As a result, a scoreboard with real-time results will appear on the lock screen and Dynamic Island.
ParkMobile

S p With the Citymapper app, you can track public transport on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, including turn-by-turn walking directions to stations or stops, next departures, number of remaining stops, arrival times, and more.
More Apps
Last month, we shared a list of over two dozen Live Activity-enabled apps. Apple also announced Live Activity support for Uber, Starbucks, and Nike Run Club, but none of these apps have yet been updated to support this feature.
