iPad mini

Much discussion from leaders has cast doubt on the possibility of a new iPad arriving on Tuesday, with the latest claim pointing to a new Apple Pencil instead of an iPad update.
Rumor has it that Apple is preparing for the event in the near future, potentially releasing a number of updated iPads. However, if other reports are to be believed, the chances of an iPad unveiling during the October event are now even less likely.
In Sunday's post, Macotakara mentions reporting on weekend briefings about the iPad to select media members and a possible announcement as early as October 17th.
Not for long. Afterwards, Mark Gurman's newsletter for Bloomberg expressed skepticism about the rumors that surfaced on Tuesday. While updated iPad, iPad Air and iPad mini models are said to be in the works with faster chips, Gurman doesn't believe major upgrades are imminent.
Gurman's doubts are similar to those of TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said changes to the iPad line before the end of 2023 are “unlikely.”
Macotakara added a strange prediction to the post: instead of updating the iPad itself, Apple will introduce the Apple Pencil 3, equipped with a replaceable magnetic tip. This rumor was spread by Majin Boo's leader earlier this week.
Another rumor that isn't mentioned but supports the new Apple Pencil theory is a report from October 3 that claims there were references to Apple Pencil USB-C code. At the same time, this could also be a reference to the existing Apple Pencil Lightning with USB-C dongle.
