In its new report entitled “Time to Upgrade Your iPad?” CIRP compares the sales share of each iPad model between June 2022 and 2023.
In 2022, CIRP data showed that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro was the most popular tablet with 35% of sales. The iPad Air comes in second with 24%.
The most popular iPad of 2023
It’s interesting that in 2023 the situation will change: the most popular iPad will be the 11-inch iPad Pro. It accounted for 26% of sales, ahead of the 12.9-inch model, and the iPad Air dropped to third place with a 19% share.
Looking at the iPad Pro's total share of sales, it's remained unchanged at 51% from 2022 to 2023.
Move to more affordable iPads
The general trend is that Apple customers are choosing more affordable iPad, as evidenced by the move from the larger iPad Pro to the smaller 11-inch model. The iPad mini, which is priced below both Pro models, has also gained market share over the past year.

When will the new iPads appear?
However, Bloomberg's latest expectations concern the new iPad Pro models will appear in the spring or summer of 2024.
