It’s interesting that in 2023 the situation will change: the most popular iPad will be the 11-inch iPad Pro. It accounted for 26% of sales, ahead of the 12.9-inch model, and the iPad Air dropped to third place with a 19% share.

Looking at the iPad Pro's total share of sales, it's remained unchanged at 51% from 2022 to 2023.

Move to more affordable iPads

The general trend is that Apple customers are choosing more affordable iPad, as evidenced by the move from the larger iPad Pro to the smaller 11-inch model. The iPad mini, which is priced below both Pro models, has also gained market share over the past year.

CIRP says the turnaround in iPad sales is a “very good thing”; Apple will update its line of tablets.

When will the new iPads appear?

However, Bloomberg's latest expectations concern the new iPad Pro models will appear in the spring or summer of 2024.

It is not yet clear whether we will be able to see new versions of the iPad mini and iPad Air earlier. The iPad mini was first released in September 2021, and the iPad Air 5 debuted in March 2022.

In any case, CIRP suggests that the updated models could help Apple add value to its iPad lineup. difference” as more consumers want to spend less than $1,000 on these devices.
