If you're looking for Apple's Loupe tool in Markup on iOS 17, you're not alone. A tool for highlighting or showing more detail in a specific part of an image is mysteriously missing.
Lack of a magnifying glass’ ;This appears to be intentional. Apple still mentions the Loupe tool in the iOS 17 guide:
In the Markup toolbar in a supported app, tap , then tap ” Magnifying glass.”
Note. If you don't see the Markup toolbar, click Markup. If the toolbar is collapsed, tap the collapsed version.
So what are we missing? Apparently, nothing except the Loupe tool. iPhone and iPad users have mentioned the missing Magnifier tool in their markup after updating to iOS 17 and iPadOS 17. It has actually been removed since the first beta of iOS 17, but it may not have received enough attention.
Meanwhile, the Loupe tool remains present on the Mac in Preview, Photos, and wherever there is markup. It's possible that Magnifier will reappear in markup in iOS 17.2. It's not in Developer Beta 1, but there's still plenty of time before it's released.
