Tap to Pay on iPhone is now available to more than 700,000 businesses in the US, marking a significant expansion.
Starting today, businesses running an online store powered by Wix.com can accept in-person payments using Tap to Pay on iPhone. Launched in 2022, this feature allows you to make contactless payments from iPhone to iPhone without the need for additional hardware for point of sale companies like Square or Clover.
At checkout, the customer can tap them iPhone or Apple Watch, credit card or other contactless payment method on the business owner's iPhone, and the payment is completed securely using the same NFC technology as Apple Pay.
Businesses can accept payments using Tap to Pay on iPhone using the Wix Owner app on iPhone XS and later after setting up this feature.
According to Wix.com, over 700,000 online stores use its platform as of 2021.
