Apple TV+ psychological thriller The Surface is getting a second run as the main character moves to London in an attempt to unravel her past.
“Surface” tells the story of Sophie (star and executive producer Gugu Embata-Row) who has severe memory loss after a suicide attempt. In the first season, she tried to discover and understand her true identity, and in the second, she tried to see how she would take her to London and even further into her past.
“It really is a whole new chapter in a whole new world,” said series creator Veronica West. “I can't wait for people to see how the show develops as we explore the brave, fearless Sophie in Season 2.”
“I'm thrilled to continue this journey and delve deeper into the tension and mystery of The Surface with this brilliant team,” said Mbatha-Row. “I love playing Sophie and can't wait for fans and new viewers to join us as she enters the dangerous new world of her past in Season 2.”
“For the actress and executive producer,” she continued, “it's incredibly important to bring this story home to London.”
The broadcast date for the second season has not yet been announced. The first season of eight episodes is already streaming on Apple TV+.
