Apple today shared an ad titled “Rescue” that showcases the new emergency call feature SOS via satellite on iPhone 14 in action. . First posted during Apple's September iPhone 14 event, the video has now been posted separately and will likely air as a TV ad in the coming months.

This feature is available on all four iPhone 14 models running iOS 16.1 or later.

Satellite SOS allows iPhone 14 models to connect directly to the satellite , what allows users to send text messages to emergency services when they are away from home. cellular coverage and Wi-Fi. Apple says that sending a text message via satellite can take 15 seconds under “ideal conditions with direct views of the sky and horizon,” but foliage or other obstructions can cause delays or no connection at all.

Apple says that this feature will be expanded to France, Germany, Ireland and the UK in December, but did not give a specific release date.
