Apple released the upcoming watchOS 9.2 update candidate to developers today for testing purposes, with the new update coming less than a week after the launch of watchOS 9.2 Beta 4.
In order to install the new watchOS 9.2 update, developers need to download a configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center.
Once installed, watchOS 9.2 can be downloaded via the dedicated Apple Watch app on iPhone by selecting General > Software Update. To update to new software, Apple Watch must have a 50 percent battery charge, be connected to a charger, and be within range of the iPhone with which it is paired.
On watchOS 9.2 introduces support for the new home app architecture, which was also added to iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, and macOS Ventura. The update also adds race track training for runners and cyclists. The Race Route is designed to allow athletes to compete against themselves on a route they have already completed or tracked as running or cycling outdoors on Apple Watch.
