Apple today released tvOS 16.2, the second major update to tvOS 16, which debuted in September. tvOS 16.2 comes more than a month after the release of tvOS 16.1, an update that brings improvements to Siri and iCloud Shared Photo Library.

The tvOS 16.2 update can be downloaded over the air via the Settings app on ‌‌‌‌Apple TV‌‌‌‌ by going to System > Software update. ‌‌‌‌‌Apple TV‌‌‌‌‌ owners who have automatic software updates enabled will automatically be updated to ‌tvOS 16.2. tvOS 16.2 is compatible with ‌Apple TV‌ 4K and ‌Apple TV‌ HD models.

tvOS 16.2 adds support for Apple Music Sing, a new karaoke feature that allows ‌Apple Music‌ subscribers with ‌Apple TV‌ sing along to your favorite songs, solo or duet. ‌Apple Music‌ Sing is compatible with ‌Apple TV‌ 4K, which is the latest model.

The update adds a preview of Apple TV+, showing videos of the new ‌Apple TV+‌ shows movies in the Originals tab as well, and tweaks the interface of the main TV app by moving the Watch Now panel down in favor of content previews.

Apple says tvOS 16.2 provides video recommendations about what watch the next one after you finish the show or movie, and also introduces a new combined sports experience. You can follow your favorite teams on ‌Apple TV‌ app, and news about these teams automatically appears in Apple News.

Apple provides additional information about tvOS releases in a dedicated tvOS support document, which is updated with each new release of tvOS.
