Apple today released new firmware 5B58 for AirPods 2, AirPods 3 and original AirPods. Pro and AirPods Max, compared to firmware 4E71 released back in May. Apple releases firmware 5B58 for AirPods Pro 2 earlier this week.
Apple doesn't offer immediately available release notes on what's included in updated firmware updates for AirPods, but the company maintains a support document with release information. Update 5B58 for AirPods Pro 2 added “bug fixes and other improvements”, without any other details.
There is no standard way to update AirPods software, but firmware is usually installed over the air when AirPods is connected to an iOS device. Place the airpods into the case by connecting the airpods to a power source and then pairing the airpods with an iPhone or iPad to trigger an update after a short period of time.

- Click About.
- Click AirPods.
- Look at the number next to Firmware Version .
