Apple TV+ has shared the first trailer for the upcoming film “The Velveteen Rabbit”, which will be released on the streaming platform on November 22.
The Velveteen Bunny is based on Margery Williams' timeless children's book about the power of unconditional love. The story follows 7-year-old William, who receives a new toy as a Christmas gift and makes a lifelong friend.
The one-off special, written by Tom Bidwell, will air from November 22, 2023. It stars Phoenix LaRoche (The Royal Nanny) as William and Alex Lawther (Andor) as Velveteen. Rabbit and Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown, Harry Potter) as the Wise Horse.
Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton), Bethany Antonia (House of the Dragon “), Lois Chimimba (Still Standing), Paterson Joseph (Vigil), Clive Rowe (So Awkward), Nathaniel Parker (Inspector Lynley Mysteries), Tilly Vosburgh (Inside Man). “), Samantha Colley (“Genius”) and Leonard Buckley (“The Great”) round out the cast.
Magic Light Pictures co-founder Martin Pope serves as producer.
“The Velvet Bunny” ” kicks off this year's holiday lineup, which also includes a new Christmas special of Frog and Toad, a new holiday special of The Snoopy Show and a Sing-Along.
