Apple announced the launch of Tap to Pay on iPhone in Taiwan, enabling independent merchants, small merchants, and major retailers in the country to use the iPhone as a payment terminal.
Introduced in February 2022, this feature allows compatible iPhones to accept payments via Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards, and other digital wallets using only iPhone – no additional equipment or credit card machine required. Tap to Pay on iPhone uses NFC technology to securely authenticate contactless payments.
China Trust Bank and TapPay are the first payment platforms to support Tap to Pay for their business customers (including large Taiwan Mobile customers) ). and Taiwan taxi). Taipei Fubon Bank will add support for its payment platform later this year.
Touch payment on iPhone requires iPhone model XS or newer and works like a normal &zwnj Apple Pay transaction&zwnj for customers ;will. Sellers simply need to open the app, register the sale, and present their iPhone to the buyer, who can then use the appropriate contactless payment method.
Click to pay on iPhone available to more than 700,000 additional businesses in the United States, and Apple Stores in the US have also implemented the feature. Taiwan is the second region to support Tap to Pay.
