Apple has released WatchOS 10.1.1 with a fix for the Apple Watch battery drain bug

Apple today released watchOS 10.1.1, a bug-fixing update to the watchOS 10 operating system that first appeared in September. watchOS 10.1.1 comes two weeks after the launch of watchOS 10.1, an update that brings support for Double Tap and NameDrop.


‌‌watchOS 10‌‌‌.1.1 can be downloaded for free through the Apple Watch app on iPhone running iOS 17 or later by opening it and selecting General > Software update. To install new software, your Apple Watch battery must be at least 50 percent charged and placed on the charger.

Today's update resolves an issue that causes some Apple Watch models to drain their battery more quickly. faster than expected. Complaints about the Apple Watch battery began after the launch of watchOS 10.1, and Apple confirmed in a note over the weekend that battery issues will be fixed in a software release.

This update contains important bug fixes. and fixes an issue that could result in faster battery drain for some users.

Apple is already testing watchOS 10.2, an update expected to ship alongside iOS 17.2 in December.
