by Julie Clover

Apple today made the first beta version of the upcoming watchOS 10.1 update available to developers for testing purposes. The beta will be released the day after watchOS 10 launches.

To install the ‌watchOS 10‌ update , developers need to open the Apple Watch app, go to Software Update under General in Settings, and turn on the ‌‌watchOS 10‌‌ developer beta. An Apple ID associated with a developer account is required.

Once beta updates are activated, ‌‌watchOS 10‌‌ will be available for download in the same Software Update section. To install the software, Apple Watch must have a 50 percent battery charge and be placed on the Apple Watch Charger.

There's no information yet on what might be included in watchOS 10.1, but we'll update this article if and when we'll find out what's new.
